Tillandsia 'Double Ruth' Tillandsia straminea as does several other species

as does several other species like seleriana

however this is a new species to me

The markings and colors of hybrid and cultivar Billbergia's can be very colorful

It requires a slightly shaded position and not too cold in the winter

or it could be grown mounted with plenty of medium

Tillandsia 'Double Ruth' Tillandsia straminea as does several other speciesTillandsia 'Double Ruth' is a hybrid between T. magnusiana and T. compressa. Created by Paul T. Isley of Rainforest Flora, a massive Bromeliad nursery i had the pleasure to visit in California. 'Double Ruth' has the shape of magnusiana but with a slightly wider, stiffer leaf, it has a lovely color, silvery grey with purplish shades towards the middle. The flower spike is an improvement on magnusiana and reminiscent of the pollen parent T. compressa,
