Description

The Tanganyika killifish (Lamprichthys tanganicanus) is a species of poeciliid endemic to Lake Tanganyika

It has a golden-bronze sheen due to longer gold bristles that cover the whole body

which permits the fish to breathe atmospheric air that they "gulp" from the surface of their habitat

Tank mates that do not occupy the surface of the aquarium are a good choice

It is fished commercially for food
