Zelkova × verschaffeltii red Discovered in a mass plantingNamed after the Belgian botanist Ambroise Verschaffelt, the cut leaf zelkova is a beautiful hybrid between the Japanese zelkova and Caucasian elm with deeply incised leaflets. It shares the graceful wide spreading habit of its parents as well as their stunning bronze red, to yellow and orange. Adaptable and tolerant of heat, little water, nutrient poor soils and various pH. H6
