elongated heart-shaped leaves have deeply impressed veins — semi-evergreen or evergreen depending upon your locale
and wonderfully long and narrow

Corylopsis spicata 'Golden Spring', Winter Hazel clay-tolerant elongated heart-shaped leaves have deeplyRacemes of pale yellow flowers dangle from zig zagging bare stems in late winter. After the blooms, new leaves emerge from a bright, acid yellow with a red rouge tint, then quickly turn golden yellow. The leaves will stay golden yellow with partial sun or will deepen to light green in full shade. Unlike C. paucifloras, once well established C. spicata species & cultivars can tolerate some periods of drought. Garden specimen photos from the JC Raulston
