17th Century Spanish Scrollwork Iron Rack The Roost H 83cm W 64cm DAntique hand forged wrought iron wall rack, often referred to as an archelle. Likely Spanish in origin, with examples traditionally dated between the 17th and late 19th centuries. This example closely corresponds to a 17th century archelle held in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, though precise dating of wrought iron remains inherently difficult. The piece features elaborate scrollwork with stylized foliage and a central arched form.
