Sambucus nigra f. porphyrophylla 'Eva' red Carpinus betulus'Eva', also known as 'Black Lace', is a stunning elderberry with deeply dissected purplish black leaves, giving it a lace like appearance. Pale pink flowers, borne in large flat umbrells throughout summer, contrast beautifully against the dark foliage. May be followed by purple black berries. Loved by wildlife. Great on all free draining soils. H6
